Cirque du Soleil's Return to Bloomington with Amaluna

As only an authentic French restaurant could be, we were terribly excited for Cirque du Soleil's return to Bloomington. We've been hearing all of the buzz surrounding their latest show, Amaluna, and hopefully you were able to catch the show under the Grand Chapiteau in the Mall of America's North Parking Lot. If not, this is your last chance as the circus wraps up its final performances for the Minneapolis leg of their tour this weekend.

Don't miss this opportunity to see a fabulous Cirque show and top the whole evening off with dinner at Chez Daniel.

We can't think of a better way to spend the weekend than by enjoying Cirque du Soleil and an authentic French meal at Chez Daniel!

"Amaluna invites the audience to a mysterious island governed by goddesses and guided by the cycles of the moon." This mythical fantasy is played out in a series of acts that engage even the wildest of imaginations in a child friendly show that is sure to delight and engage your whole family.

Make sure you have your tickets for Amaluna and your reservations for Chez Daniel for one enchanting and exciting evening you won't soon to forget!

For more information on Amaluna, we invite you to visit Cirque du Soleil's website: CLICK HERE.

September Client Appreciation Event Recap

Last week, we again had the pleasure of participating in our Corporate Client Appreciation Event. For the third year running, we partnered with our sister restaurant, Woolley's Steakhouse, as well as our lovely neighbors, the Embassy Suites Minneapolis Airport and the Embassy Suites Bloomington West, in what's become tradition.

This year, it wasn't our turn to play host as we had in the past, but we were still able to pitch in on one great event! With our co-hosts, we invited our corporate meeting and event clients to a showcase of some of the best that the industry as well as our properties have to offer in one gigantic display of our gratitude.

Of course, our awesome Embassy Weddings' team was also on-hand to lend their expertise in helping display some up-to-the-minute trends as well as to just show off our team's capabilities. This year, the theme of the event was "Around the World".

Each and every guest was presented with a passport that allowed them to "travel around the globe", as they visited different meeting spaces in the Embassy Suites Minneapolis Airport, each uniquely themed for the event. We even brought Craft Mobile Kitchen, a new Food Truck, into the fun! Guests were rewarded with delicious, expertly prepared cuisine and activities/entertainment that matched the "location" of each area.

We're so thankful that Andrews Photography captured the whole event for us. To review the full gallery, we invite you to CLICK HERE.

For everyone that attended and helped with the event, our utmost thanks! We are so grateful and lucky to be surrounded by such wonderful clients, team members, vendor partners, and ultimately friends. Without any one of these things, none of the rest would be possible.

Until next year!

Upcoming Wedding Event - Support Your Local Vendors on August 20

Our Embassy Weddings team is putting together their own mini-wedding expo featuring all of the unique and "must-meet" wedding vendors from our area. Since the Twin Cities are chock full of talented wedding professionals, all offering many unique things for your special day, Allie and Renee wanted to give you the opportunity to meet some of these folks in person and see firsthand the products and services they offer!

While Allie and Renee often get to attend events and meet different wedding professionals themselves, they wanted to get them together all in one place for couples planning their weddings. Not only that, but now you can glean inspiration that could be helpful to you in your planning process.

These are vendors that you may not have heard about before or even thought of using their services until you see them in person. We strongly suggest that you come check it out. Best of all, it's FREE for you and lunch will be served. Throughout the event, you'll have time to mingle and talk to the vendors and find out whether or not they would be able to help make your dream wedding day come true.

Support Your Local Wedding Vendors Expo
Tuesday, August 20, 2013
11:30am - 1:30pm
Embassy Suites Bloomington
2800 American Blvd West, Bloomington MN 55431

Please RSVP to the Facebook Event on the Embassy Weddings Facebook page, and make sure to include whether you plan to bring a guest. Then, the Embassy Weddings team will reveal more information about the vendors and the event as the date approaches.

We hope to see you there!

Bastille Day - July 14, 2013

This coming Sunday, July 14, marks the annual French celebration, La Fête Nationale (The National Celebration), otherwise known as Bastille Day. Commemorating the first anniversary of the storming of the Bastille on July 14, 1789, Bastille Day mainly celebrates the French Revolution and subsequent establishment of the Declaration of the Rights of Man and of the Citizen.

While Bastille Day in France is quite the event, with parades, fireworks, and more, Minnesota Francophliles can also join in the fun.

The Alliance Français, a Twin Cities French cultural center, will be hosting a Bastille Day celebration this Saturday, July 13, from 4 to midnight at the Hotel Sofitel right here in Bloomington. For more information and a complete schedule of events, feel free to visit their Bastille Day page.

Barbette will also be hosting their annual Bastille Day Block Party this weekend, beginning at 3pm on Sunday, July 14. (Great news, if you wanted to spend all weekend celebrating!) Rain or shine, the event will be held on Irving and Lagoon in Uptown and will feature performances, music, and more! A portion of the proceeds from the event will even be donated to local charity, People Serving People.

However, the best celebration of all will be going down right here, as Mpls. St Paul Magazine's Restaurant Week returns to Chez Daniel on Bastille Day, Sunday, July 14. Celebrate La Fête Nationale in style as you enjoy a three-course dinner at one low price! To view the menus, please CLICK HERE.

Now you're all set to get out and get down in the name of Bastille Day, friends!

Please join us in congratulating both our Embassy Weddings team as well as our entire Embassy Suites Bloomington - West crew as we are so thrilled to be voted one of The Knot's Best of Weddings for 2013. Restaurant Week Round-Up

A warm Merci Beaucoup to everyone who joined us for this round of Mpls St Paul Magazine's Restaurant Week. We had a blast seeing all the new faces, recognizing our regulars, and just all-around delighting diners.

What was especially enjoyable was that one of our lucky diners was even selected as Mpls St Paul's Diner of the Day. King Krompicha, our guest on Wednesday, February 27, was selected after she submitted photos of her and her companions enjoying their Chez Daniel Restaurant Week experience to Mpls St Paul Magazine. Not only did she get fame through this experience, but King also got fortune in the form of a $100 Gift Certificate to a participating restaurant!

As has become standard practice, we love sharing some of the rave reviews that we receive for Restaurant Week as our way of acknowledging and thanking both the diners that joined us as well as our team for such a great week.

***** "Kim always does a great job serving us."

***** "wonderful, no one could ask for more."

***** "I went there for Restaurant Week and had a four course meal. We had scallops and escargot for hors d'oeuvres . Both were fantastic! 1st course was a brown pear salad. Entrées were pan seared lamb chops and home made au gratin potatoes. She had the salmon. Both were absolutely amazing. And Crème Brûlée for dessert. I was very impressed!"

***** "The food was so good that I returned the verry next day! GREAT!"

So, if you joined us for Restaurant Week, we thank you! We hope your experience was such that you'll visit us again, maybe even for brunch.

If you haven't already, we encourage you to tell Mpls St Paul Magazine about your Restaurant Week experience. CLICK HERE to take their survey and you could win a $100 Gift Certificate to a Twin Cities Restaurant.

Until next time!

Bloomington, MN Event Caterer

While now may not be the time that most people think of when it comes to getting outside and making the most of things, it's a great time to let you in on a lesser known fact about one of Chez Daniel's capabilities. Not only are we able to host your event on-site, in one of Chez Daniel's Private Dining rooms or in our beautifully spacious ballroom, but we are also able to bring Chez Daniel to you.

That's right, with our sister restaurant Woolley's Steakhouse and under our joint parent company, Tri City Restaurant Management, we're able to provide off-site catering. From family reunion BBQ's to a corporate lunch for employees, graduation parties to beautiful outdoor weddings, we're able to handle it all! Plus, the best part about hiring an experienced caterer for your next event is the fact that you don't even have to worry. Simply leave the planning, the preparation, and the clean-up to us!

Our team is equipped and experienced enough to handle anything your party throws our way. From the food, plates and utensils to linens, decor, and even the tent, we'd love to show you our catering team's capabilities.

Below is a cater-out that we recently hosted on-site for one of our corporate clients. Their event, a picnic complete with pig roast, was a hit!

Guests waiting to go through the buffet line

Chef Peter with the Pig Roast

We even had one uninvited guest try to get in on the delicious Pig Roast!

For more information on how we could help with your next event, please contact us today at 952.888.4447 to be put in touch with a member of our catering team.

We look forward to making your event not just worry free, but unforgettable!

Corporate Client Event | PhotoOpp Bride Edition

This past Thursday (September 6), we had the pleasure of hosting a Corporate Client Event. Now a tradition, we partner with our sister restaurant, Woolley's Steakhouse, as well as our lovely neighbors, the Embassy Suites Minneapolis Airport and the Embassy Suites Bloomington West, in inviting our corporate meeting and event clients to a showcase of some of the best trends and highlights that the industry as well as our properties have to offer.

Our awesome Embassy Weddings' team also lent their expertise in helping display some up-to-the-minute trends as well as to just show off our team's capabilities.

From an Ice Wall that contained small chilled appetizers to a S'mores Station where marshmallow roasting was encouraged, we spared no expense!

We even included an elegant dinner setting and a Sip & Snip non-alcoholic drink bar, where guests could "infuse" their own "elixirs".

But the best part of the whole event was the fun we got to have with our clients using the PhotoOpp - Bride Edition app. A photo sharing smartphone app that serves to replace those disposable cameras on each table, the PhotoOpp - Bride Edition app allows guests to snap pictures throughout the event (with a customized app for your occasion). Pictures are then automatically uploaded to the host's online album, where guests can see each other's photos instantly, and they can even be streamed for a live real-time slideshow throughout the event.

Using the PhotoOpp - Bride Edition app, we encouraged our guests to take funny photos throughout the event. Not only were the photos streamed for a live real-time slideshow throughout the event, but we also had a 3-liter bottle of Perrier Jouët on the line for the guest who snapped the best shot (as voted on, of course). Here are some that were shared:

For everyone that attended and helped with the event, our utmost thanks! We are so grateful and lucky to be surrounded by such wonderful clients, team members, vendor partners, and ultimately friends. Without any one of these things, none of the rest would be possible.

Until next year!
